With so much going on at the moment, we thought it was about time we let you know what we have coming up over the next month or more. there’s plenty to pick through, so take your time.

Automation Premiere

Since launching late last year, shiny new Internet radio station The Backyard Project has wasted no time in staking claim to eager ears across the web from it’s home base in Perth (WA Australia). Streaming live to your computer – or portable device – twenty four seven, you can’t help but wonder how station management are able to squeeze in any sleep between shows. Relentless.

However they do it, we’re proud to announce the latest addition to The Backyard Project’s ever increasing arsenal of sound : Automation.

Automation brings a monthly dose of live production and original electronic music to your earholes no matter where in the world you might be located. Promising a live production set from a different artist each month – plus a smattering of original tunes from local producers – tune in to the sharp end of the Perth original electronic music scene and hear what’s going down.

The Automation Premiere airs this Sunday 12 February 2012 from 10pm Western Standard Time, and to kick the ball well into the middle of next month, the debut broadcast features previously unheard original sets from each of the two presenters: DXU and Lo-Key Fu. It’s completely coincidental that their names rhyme.

Following the premiere, Automation airs on the third Thursday of every month from 9pm to 10pm at www.thebackyardproject.com.au. Tune in.

Lo-Key Fu Unearthed

Also on the Internet radio tip, Lo-Key Fu recently added a profile to the Triple J Unearthed website. Sporting a live recorded version of the track Razorwire from his spanking new set, you can head over to the Lo-Key Fu Unearthed Profile to sign up and grab yourself a free copy. FreQualizer Presents Hedflux

With the weeks flying by faster than we can count the degrees on our thermometer, we thought reminding you about the FreQualizer presents Hedflux show at Geisha Bar (Northbridge WA Australia) would be a good idea. If you missed the earlier post with all the details, you can get everything you need to know right over here. Tickets are moving fast so jump on this one fast if you’re keen to head down.

Box Set Records Remix

With his live set calling shotgun for the last few months, we’re happy to confirm that Lo-Key Fu has been enlisted to remix the latest offering from Perth artist Growler. The track is titled Head Stereo, and the release will be available through Box Set Records early this year. Stay tuned for more information closer to the date, but for now you can taste a teaser of the original mix over on Box Set Records Soundcloud Profile. Tasty.

House Of Fu Website Updates

And finally, if you’ve been visiting over the last few weeks, you may have noticed some changes in the works here at House Of Fu. We’ve moved our site over to www.houseoffu.com, changed our blogging platform, and are steadily working our way through a number of other improvements. At this stage however there’s still plenty to be done, so please bear with us if you notice any glitches, bugs or untoward pixels on your travels. We’ll do our best to get everything running seamlessly again for you very soon.

Making waves the evolution of breakbeat, Hedflux integrates thick tech-funk with refined psychedelia to produce a sound characterized by laser-precision engineering, liquid-tight grooves and a visceral, hypnotic energy.

Seriously Sound System 2011

With Broken Technology pulling out all the stops for a smashingly successful launch last month, there’s plenty of good reason to dish out credit where it’s due. From here however, it’s full steam ahead into the loosely controlled madness that is the Southern Hemisphere’s summer festival season, and what better way to kick things off than with RTR FMs flagship summer dance and electronic music festival?

With a monster lineup bigger than twenty or more really big things all joined together and fed to an even bigger thing as a high protein dietary supplement, there’ll be something for all breed of electronic music lover at Seriously Sound System this year.

DnB stalwarts Greg Packer and MC Assassin hit the stage together fresh off the back of their latest release: Silent Rain; Lo-Key Fu brings yet another fistful of his all original, dangerously live slamming breakbeat; Cosmo Gets promise a hearty helping of raw beats and improvised funk jam… and that’s just three of the twenty plus acts on show.

So gather your crew together and start making some suitably cunning plans for 17 December 2011 as there’s little over a week to go, and time seems to fly past a lot quicker around this time of year. With everything about to hit overdrive for the Broken Technology Launch this Saturday, we thought a last minute update was due, so here it is.

No matter where in the world you live or what time you read this message, if you’re keen to sneak in a short teaser of brand new sounds from Lo-Key Fu before the weekend – and hear what he has to say about musical mid-life crises – switch in to RTRfm’s Full Frequency radio show with Ben Mac & Micah for the low down. Here’s how to do it:

- Stream the show live online (Monday 7 November 2011, 4.15pm WST)

- Restream the broadcast if you missed it the first time around; or

Looking towards the Broken Technology Launch in little more than a month’s time, Lo-Key Fu recently spoke with the good folk at BT about slalom skiing, musical mid-life crises and the new Lo-Key Fu.

“As a veteran of the local electronic scene, Lo-Key Fu boasts a trophy cabinet full of awards, successful international releases and live performances at major festivals such as Breakfest, Parklife, Summadayze and Earthdance. The Broken Technology launch this November marks his long awaited return to the live stage after a somewhat conspicuous absence, and we managed to get him to sit still for long enough to ask what’s been going on…”

If you haven’t yet caught the rumours that have been doing the rounds, word is that Lo-Key Fu will be making his return to the live stage for the launch of Broken Technology.

Specialising in the unique and the decidedly dirty, Broken Technology consists of two Promoters double-teaming their ideas to show that there’s more to electronic music than just the party scene that surrounds it. Set to tackle a wide variety of genres and feature only quality artists, Broken Technology will be launching at The Bakery venue (Perth WA Australia) come 12 November 2011.

Between pushing pixels around to tidy this place up a bit and getting to grips with a bunch of new projects, we’re happy to announce that the House Of Fu Online Music Store is now live and itching to release some fresh new musical treats we have in the pipeline. As an entree, Lo-Key Fu’s Itchy Techno Finger (HOF01) album has already been shifted over to the new store location, but with the next course simmering away in the background, we’re overly keen to share it with you all. Onwards and upwards!

You might have been wondering what the hell has been going on over the last few months, but the good news is that you’re not alone: at times so have we.

After an frustratingly lengthy and infinitely inconvenient vacuum of everyday routine, you’ll be happy to know that the wheels of progress are once again grinding away towards some sort of creative nirvana.

So while you’re meditating on that, we’ll be polishing up the edges of this blog a little before starting to post some of the cool stuff we’ve been itching to share for a while now. Hang tight people, we haven’t forgotten you.

RIP Mr Inspiron Fu

For those of you that haven’t already heard, there is sad news to be shared today. It’s time to farewell half of a musical partnership that very nearly spanned eight years. Having featured together at countless festivals, sweaty warehouse jams, crazy after parties and on tiled floors of a genuinely obscene number of toilet cubicles, Mr Inspiron Fu has finally moved on to the great computer graveyard in the sky.

A Dedicated Performer

Since the musical partnership began in 2004, Inspiron never missed a single Lo-Key Fu show. He was usually one of the first to arrive, often the last to leave and occasionally he’d even stay in venues or car boots overnight. He was gaffa taped to benches, strapped into small cases, covered in insulation tape or stickers, and was even waved in the air like he just didn’t care on one notable occasion that involved mushrooms.

If at some stage Inspiron touched your life, your ears, or the back seat of your car because Lo-Key Fu had inconveniently passed out and you couldn’t wake him, we’d be honoured if you could join us in celebrating his most memorable years of making music.
